Over the past few weeks, we’ve had a number of Sparkhouse employees traveling the country to visit with you at various ministry events. We kicked it off with a trip to St. Louis to join youth leaders at National Youth Workers Convention, which we’re not sure if we had more fun playing Mario Kart or if they did. (Didn’t catch the recap? Read it here.)

In January, Kelly and Julia escaped the frigid cold in Minneapolis and headed down to sunny Orlando to talk to children’s ministry leaders at the Children’s Pastors Conference (CPC). Here, Sparkhouse invited ministry leaders to find out their Frolic Friend!

To celebrate revealing the Uris, Avas, Hals, Rufuses, and Jos at the conference, we gave away a BIG prize – a year of Frolic! Congratulations to Brooke from Germantown, Maryland who won a full suite of Frolic goodies, including curriculum for her church nursery, preschool Sunday school, and to host parent-child faith classes

A few weeks later, Sparkhouse headed to ELCA Extravaganza with our sister imprint, Augsburg Fortress, to share everything new in 2019. Elissa and Jess loved chatting with leaders for all ages about our new products, including Augsburg Fortress’ Daniel Erlander resources and Sparkhouse’s Dialogues On and T.B.D. curricula resources.

The conference itself focused on disruption and what that means to ministry leaders. Over the course of the conference, they identified numerous disruptors from history as they spoke about how they influenced their communities and relayed it back to what that means for communities of faith in today’s world.

Martin Luther. Kurt Cobain. Harriet Tubman. Malala Yousafzai. Saint Olaf. Daniel Erlander. Jesus of Nazareth. Just to name a few… when you think of disruptors, what comes to mind?

Lastly, the team headed down to the Texas coast to spend time in Galveston for the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (APCE) Annual Conference. As the conference invited attendees to “come now to the waters,” Sparkhouse took booth visitors on the Sparkhouse journey, giving them insight into the curriculum and resources that Sparkhouse offers from birth through adult to spark faith in communities.
