Last summer, we kicked off Flat Jesus and loved seeing all the fun that you had. Hundreds of fantastic pictures were provided that tracked your adventures, and countless students learning the ever-important lesson that Jesus never leaves them.
Maybe you didn’t catch wind of the viral adventure (there seems to be new ones all the time, right?), so you’re wondering, what exactly is Flat Jesus?
Flat Jesus is . . .
Flat Jesus is inspired by a national school project called Flat Stanley, based on a book written by Jeff Brown. Just as Flat Stanley has helped children with literacy and geography, Flat Jesus helps children stay plugged into the biblical message you’ve been sharing with them all year.
How it works: Each student gets their own paper cutout of Jesus to take with them on their summer adventures. You’ll encourage families to take photos of their Jesus as he walks with them—helping them keep Jesus at the forefront of their minds. The project also provides an opportunity for you to partner with your students’ families as a way to stay connected through the craziness of summertime.
Is this year any different than last year?
Just a little bit! This year we’ve added a new cutout of the re:form Jesus so your youth can participate too. Thankfully, Flat Jesus is still completely free to participate AND we are giving away another $100 gift card to one lucky winner to spend on Sparkhouse products.
Encourage families in your community to send you photos of their kids with Flat Jesus. Share your photos by tagging us on your favorite social media platform with the hashtag #FlatJesus for a chance to be featured on Sparkhouse’s channels AND for a chance to win that $100 Sparkhouse gift card!
